NIKE X OOO
Over the past two decades, Nike has enlisted a diverse roster of both emerging and established creative talents in order to convey stories beyond products themselves, resulting campaigns investigate the intersection of nike innovation and the athletic body, and capture the potent emotion of sport. "I, David" is a new campaign, featuring famed ballet dancer David Hallberg and it explores the notion of perseverance: both literally through Hallberg's personal experience in overcoming physical injury, and metaphorically using the NikeLab ACG poncho as an allegory for tenacity and for pushing forward in the face of harsh conditions. Creative Directed by Dorian Grinspan, directed by Niclas Gillis, with set design by artist James Casebere, Hallberg evolves to the tune of the original cover of Claude Ely’s “Ain't no Grave” which as the legend goes, Ely wrote while fighting, and eventually prevailing over tuberculosis at the age of 12, in 1934.
